Super Mario?

I want to start a series of predictions, just for fun, and to stimulate to conversation.

#1 How many sacks will Mario have this season? I would put the over/under at 15 and I would take the over. I just think.....and hope Super Mario will be a MONSTER this season!

I will definately take the over with this one: 23 is what I'll take cause it's such a great number.

10 of mario's 14 sacks came in the last 7 games of the season. his secret was that he seemed to excel against weak blockers. since he's on the radar now, offenses may start to assign blocking on him so i'll take the under. i'm guessing less than 10.

and why the hell aren't we talking about DeMeco, a player who's actually done something for this defense?

Joasis- first of all, welcome to houston sports rule! I think this Texans defense is going to be very good. Your right about DeMeco, he is the anchor of this D. I think with the success of DeMeco and all that "experience" the DB'S got and the addition of Colvin, Mario should have a big season and prove all the " he just get blocked by injured tightends" wrong. Mario will beat any 1 blocker, if he is doubled teamed, which he will be, that opens the door for the Legion Of DOOM!

I will take the under. I expect Super Mario to be double teamed more this year, but I expect him to get more than 10 sacks. With that said I also expect Oakm, Okoye, and Ryans to pick up the slack.

I'll take the over and expect Mario to have a big year with Colvin in the line up. He showed us the last part of last season that he is a work in progress and I don't think we have seen the best of him yet. I think also he'll play a much bigger role in beefing up D-meco's numbers in tackles by turning alot of the opposing running game inside even with double teams. It's going to be the quickness of the linebackers to rotate outside in the flat on quick pass plays that will determine how much 'doom' this defense can cause this year.
